Hi, I am using LK machine. Currently I found some issues with their gooseneck which bothers me a lot. Here are the questions that I have:
1. If nozzle adaptor hole is off center, would this affect the material filling and injection speed? SSB REPLY: Yes, it will affect the material filling and it might also cause you gooseneck has leakage. If your gooseneck adaptor hole off center direction is on the Y axis, you might be able to take out the locating rings on the mold to adjust the fitment. However, if your gooseneck adaptor hole off center direction is on the X axis, this will definately cause big problem for proudction and for your gooseneck spare parts.
2. Would above issue affect the life span of the nozzle and nozzle adaptor?
SSB REPLY:
Yes, it will affect the life span of the nozzle and nozzle apaptor. It will be easily damaged and break. Your nozzle will also not able to fit with the mold perfectly and for a short period of time, the nozzle will be ruptured from the open end.
3. Why this would happen and how do we prevent this?
SSB REPLY:
It is caused by their production method because the way other supplier makes their gooseneck material runner by putting a stainless tube to create the path. However, when casting the tube will shift and each time it shifts differnt direction and the shifting distance are various also. There is no mechanism to hold the tube in postion which is why the adaptor hole will be off center most of the time.
SSB's gooseneck will not have this problem because our prodution method is different and our material runner is created by machining. Once our gooseneck is casted, We set the part on to our machines with special deisgned fixture to place in position and start production. Therefore each gooseneck dimension are consist and the holes will be in center.
